Multimedia Awareness Program










50 Students and 14 staff of Makunudhoo Madharusa successfully completed a 5 week long Mutimedia Awareness Program conducted by MNDF in association with Makunudhoo Cuncil and Makunudhoo Madharusa.
Softwares like CorelDraw, Photoshop and Premier Pro were taught to the participants.
At the end of the awareness program, students of MM prepared a Documentary about education in Makunudhoo and an annimation on a primary level story.
Students' performed exeptionally well in the program.
We the Management, students and parents of the school thank MNDF and WO 1 Mohamed Yameen (facilitator) for the wonderful opportunity.

PTS meetings



Parent teacher meetings were held to discuss the students result, behaviour and other issues in the learning process. The meetings were fruitful and teachers and parents shared their concerns and opinions with one another. Each student set a target for the term exam during these meetings.

Say NO to Plastic bags

Health and Environment club of the school launches "Say NO to Plastic bags" campaign. The club provided all the students with materials to prepare environment friendly bags. The best 10 bags were selected and the names of the students who prepared those bags were announced. There were very beautiful and creative designs.
Our thanks to Soneva resorts for donating those materials to the school
The students will carry the bags while shopping.
The club estimates that around 100,000 polythene bags were used in the island every year, and this campaign will significantly reduce the number of Polythene bags used in the island.

Special parent meetings

Makunudhoo School held individual parent meetings for all the students of the school. During these meetings teachers individually met each and every student with his/her parent, and discussed about the learning, behaviour and other important issues.

The sports week - a colourful event

Sports week of MM ended on Thursday. The school's three houses, Dhuveli, Halui and Vidhuvaru partcipated in the sports week activities. Football and Netball tournaments were conducted in three different age groups
Age group "C" was students from 1-3
Age group "B" was students from 4-7
Age group "A" was students from 8-10
Halui House was the champion of "C" category Football and Netball, "B" category football and Netball, and "A" category Football
Dhuveli House was the champion of "A" category Netball. Vidhuvaru House played in 4 of the 6 finals.
Congratulations to the winners!!!!
The arrangements of the tournaments were flawless.
Hats off to the sports club, House masters, Coaches and students who worked hard to make this sports week a success.
We appreciate the help of parents and well-wishers who raised more than 13000/- for the sports week.
We also appreciate the help of Referees, umpires  and judges of all the tournaments

Halui House - "C" category netball Champion

Halui won the final match against Vidhuvaru today morning. Congratulations to the Players, Coaches, House Master and Supporters of Halui house. "C" category (students of grade 1-3) attracted the highest number of spectators during this week long sports events.
